i have been diagnosed and am being treated for possible menieres disease (along with osteo in the hip and both knees) I get vertigo but I think cervical spondylosis is the cause of my problem which my sister has - she gets awful headaches which I don't but I do get nausea with the neck exercises - what are your symptoms please Jonah? Thanks Duffer.

It’s horrid isn’t it, I try to do the neck exercise but it’s just vile with the creaking you could ask your gp for anti sickness pills cyclazine for the nausea I get numbness and tingling down my left arm but I use a tens machine I bought from Amazon it’s shaped like a butterfly and a neck wrap I also get the headaches and vertigo I have arthritis everywhere except my hips , when I first noticed something was wrong I felt like I’d been cattle proded in my arm electric shock I take tramadol for pain but am unable to tolerate them really so now use capsaicin cream too stretching exercise are helpful too
hope this helps and take care 😊

Hello Jona - thank you for replying. I've never been offered any pain medication - just exercises which I pay for privately - No. 3 physio visit tomorrow - keep trying to do the vestibular rehabilitation exercises but they make me feel dreadful. I slip the occasional ibuprofen for the pain but this is frowned on these days and even paracetamol is getting bad reviews. just keep plodding on hoping things will go of their own accord. I get panic attacks most days - just fear of the vertigo which is another lousy symptom. And then I think of the world situation and beat myself up - these fleeing people have all the same health worries - and more - with no comfort and not much hope. It's so helpful Jona not to feel alone. Thanks so much again - I'll let you know my progress. Duffer.

My pleasure duffer,
It is rather depressing to feel helpless not only with arthritis but the news on ukraine those poor people it appears after all the wars we learned nothing but it’s always been profit before people
As for medication I prefer to take nothing as they cause other problems but at times it gets too much I always got angry when told wear and tear it’s like a red rag to a bull to me until people know how it all is they should stay quiet when I first started to feel dizzy I was scared but now I just sit till it’s eased
good luck with physio and yes please do keep me up to date
Jona 😊

Although not separated out, the page on ankylosing spondylitis on the web site does cover some aspects of cervical spondylosis and includes information on treatments and managing the condition.
There is also some general information on neck pain that may be of some help: https://www.versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/conditions/neck-pain/
Plus, the heated neck pad is a real relief as I care for someone who has some of the symptoms.
Best wishes
Brynmor

thank you Brynmor - that's really helpful and I'll have a read tomorrow. Been a power cut here most of the day - not the greatest thing for Osteo - brrr - no phone, no network, no panic button no heating.......... Duffer.

Hi! I'm newly diagnosed with cervical spondylosis ( well October 22 after mri) and off work since September. After feeling good over Xmas and returned to work 04012023. But that night pain returned to September levels so now on higher Pregabalin dose. It seems any activity brings on pain. Feeling a bit hopeless as specialist appt date unknown. Anyone else been through this?
