I have just joined mainly to share my experience. I have suffered from arthritis for over 30 years. I was seen by a consultant who diagnosed psoriatic arthritis. I was taking glucosamine sulphate at the time, a 'fringe' medication at the time. He said it had its uses but not for my condition. So I stopped taking it. Over the years I have been prescribed naproxen and ibuprofen and twice my condition was so bad I could hardly get out of bed and my wife had to dress me, then steroids were prescribed. I then decided to go back to glucosamine. It helped. But here is the surprise, when my psoriasis is rampant and the arthritis eased, glucosamine completely eases the incessant itching. Not what I expected. It doesn't get rid of the psoriasis but within an hour of taking a tablet the itching stops for a day. I hope some find my experience useful.

Hi @Michaelgj welcome to the Online Community.
I understand you have psoriatic arthritis and are now taking a course of the nutritional supplement glucosamine to help with the itching caused by the psoriasis.
This is interesting as I had understood that there were some indications of benefits with treating osteoarthritis but not much else. We hold some information on glucosamine on our web site - I note it is contra-indicated for those who have diabetes:
