New Arthritic Nodule on central finger joint

Hi Everyone. This nodule just appeared about 3 days ago. I couldn't work out if it was a grizzly nodule that my family are prone to. They just disintegrate with a bit of movement and massage. It didn't hurt. Today it's becoming a bit painful and is clearly a nodule on the finger joint..

Do I need to do.anything eg go to GP pharmacist etc, to see if there is any preventative meds around?

Or should I just put it down to the progress of my osteoarthritis and leave it?
