I found a quick way of making my vegan smoothie tips…

Ingredients - FROZEN supermarket ready mix smoothie mix (kiwi, - feed your gut biome, spinach - folic acid, mango -taste, kale - multi nutrient) - I bought from tesco, but i think they all have this.

Plus rocket salad, freeze it yourself. before opening the bag gently squeeze to break the frozen brittle leaves. This causes it to settle a bit. Then open and squeeze/roll more vigorously to pulverise the brittle leaves and POUR into the smoothie jar.

Add a couple of drops of extra virgin olive oil to dissolve the fat soluble nutrients.

Then add the ready mix smoothie mix and finally add water.

Blend to suit. Drink within 1 - 2 hours as it oxidises readily once blended, losing benefits.

Total time from fridge open to drink - 120seconds or less!

The key bit was freezing the loose leaf salad so its brittle and super easy to crush and pour.

I also eat an orange later for the citric acid, as spinach apart from folic acid, also contains oxalic acid, highly unwelcome in the kidneys as it slowly forms kidney stones, made of mainly Calcium Oxalate. However citric acid mitigates this by forming Calcium citrate, which is soluble, unlike Calcium oxalate. (A refresher of 6th form/uni chemistry refresher - calcium salts are usually insoluble pains, but there are exceptions, citrate, acetate & bicarbonate being the most common solubles - there’s one more very common one but lets see if anyone remembers!).

As nutrition based changes take a long time to become apparent, I will make notes & report my bloods & results in 3 months! ☺️
