Hi

Is am new here. My husband was diagnosed with reactive arthritus last year in March and has been on 4 different meds to try and help. None have worked and he is starting a new funded one next week.

Today he had a breakdown and it kills me to see him like this. He said he wishes he could have his old life back and feels so low.

we have our own business (he is a mechanic) he struggles to do the day to day now and loves what he does but feels lost.

i just wondered if anyone had any tips or help that I could give him.

Hi @TCTI3287 Welcome to the Versus Arthritis online community. I am so glad you have found us.

I understand from your post that your husband was diagnosed with Reactive Arthritis in March 2021 and is struggling very much with the impact it is having on his life. It sounds as though the treatment he has tried so far has not helped enough and he is now on a different medication. You don't say what it is an chances are some of our members will be taking it as well.

You have your own business too so there is a lot of pressure on you both to be well enough make the business succeed this must be adding to his worries.

A new diagnosis is very very tough especially if treatment doesn't seem to work quickly. That's why Versus Arthritis have put together these pages:

If it helps maybe your husband or even you might want to call our helpline for a chat?

Please do join in anywhere you wish people here are incredibly supportive.

    Best wishes

    Ellen.
