Welcome to the Online Community @Russ

I see our pain which began in 2001 developed into Osteoarthritis in both knees. Your right knee was replaced last year, but now the left knee pain is horrendous.

I wonder whether you are 'on the list' for the left knee to be replaced too. This information will be useful for you whether or not this is the case as it is very much about managing pain:

I am know many of our members will be able to relate to your pain and hopefully be along to give you their tips with coping.

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

Hi i was advised by my surgeon to delay left knee replacement due to my age 57 to young however since then the pain has increased dramatically. Referred back for xray and now have a floating debris in joint so doctor is referring back to the musculoskeletal clinic so they decide if surgery is best at this time. However i would advise anyone suffering serious pain to consider knee replacement surgery because the pain will disappear but also has its drawbacks etc.Surgery not for every one but worth considering.

I first started with osteo in my right knee at the age of 18. I am now 59 and have really bad arthritis in both knees and in my neck which has an effect on my cranial nerves.

    Hi KarenD63.

Sorry to hear that you have had arthritis at such a young age it must be difficult to have to live with this condition I developed mine in my early 30s.how do you deal with it daily?. Have you considered surgery for your knees.

I’ve just been diagnosed with very mild OA in my knees and I’m so frightened of what’s to come (I’ve already had a hip replacement at 38!)

Wishing you all the best today, I’m so sorry you’re all suffering so much
