Hi I'm Susan I have been living with osteoarthritis of the knees for many years but I have now developed it in my neck and the pain is unreal as it goes across my shoulder and down my arm at it's worse I can't use my right arm at all if I need to lift it I have to use my left arm to lift the right arm up I have just had my first physio and he thinks I also have a problem with my roatar cuff but what I am really struggling with is one day I am in so much pain and not being able to sleep and not wanting to carry on then out the blue I get a day and am almost pain free and can do some normal things egg gardening going shopping or the cinema and make plans and then I wake up and the pain is back by the way I am 65 and up until 3 and a half years ago I ran my own business it was a boarding kennels and cattery and I was a dog groomer for 32 years and I gave it up to be a full time carer for my father in law who had vascular dementia and I cared for him until he passed in September he was 102 so I have always been busy so it gets me down when I can't do anything

    Hi @SueDaly

You describe a busy life, running your own business and then as a full time carer. It is not that you cannot do anything now it is just that you have different choices to make and more skills to learn to manage your change in lifestyle. We all find it difficult to adjust but with the help of your physio and exercises you will hopefully learn to cope with the pain and lack of mobility.

I hope this link will be helpful

    Take care
