I have been suffering for nearly a year with severe pain in the back of my right knee and down the outside of my leg. My doctor says it's just a bit of arthritis and it will go in about 8-10 weeks. Most of the time the pain is really debilitating. I struggle to walk for more than about 10 minutes and worry about not getting home if I go out too far. I am fed up with keep taking paracetamol. Sorry if this seems to be a whinge, but is there anyone who suffers the same way.

    Hi

I have osteoarthritis in my right knee and the pain goes down the lower front and side of my leg. I am taking Naproxen with Omeprazole ( for lining of stomach ) . Have you spoken to your Doctor regarding medication for the pain? Also, my Doctor referred me for some physio exercises which do seem to be helping.

On a bad day with the pain, I find that I don't want to walk far, but having taken a painkiller I find that I can walk further and feel more confident. I suppose really I try and take one day at a time. But take comfort in the fact that you are not alone with this.

    Take care.
