Arthritis behind kneecaps
Hi. I'm 62 and until January had no aches and pains. Then my left knee started to cause me grief. Standing up after sitting was agony and walking up and down stairs really painful. I've now been diagnosed and although the right knee isn't sore it's there too. I'm taking ibuprofen and paracetamol in the morning and before bed. It's more manageable. Am I OK to keep taking those long term? I had a couple of physiotherapy sessions with ultrasound. Should these make a difference? I'm so glad to have found this site.

Hi.
I am no expert on these matters, but have you spoken to your Doctor regarding pain management? Also, they may be able to refer you to Physio.
I too have arthritis in my right knee. I was given pain meds. from my Doctor and also was referred to Physio. and was given exercises to do. These combined do help ease the pain and stiffness, but no two days are the same. I try and keep positive ( doesn't always work ) but just take one day at a time and try and be kind to yourself. 😊
Take care.
