Tightness around ribs

Hi, I don't know if anyone can give me some advise, I've been unwell for over 1 year, started as dull ache all over, very tired, didn't matter what I took pain didn't go. Then every time I leant slightly forward I get a tight band around my rib cage. Was still trying to work full time, then one night the right side of my body was as I described uncontrollable jerking, top half of body bending forward and right leg coming up. I've had MRI, CT scans, they have found arthritis in neck, osteoarthritis in lower back, arthritis in knees. Would arthritis actually cause this ? Now I can't walk without a stick, im very slow. I use to walk everywhere. Sorry this is long but I'm feeling a bit desperate

Hello @Jes1968 and welcome to the community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that you will find that as well.

I understand that you have osteoarthritis in your neck, lower back and knees and are struggling to walk and do the things you used to do. Can I suggest as a start having a look at our website, it contains lots of information on arthritis, how it affects us, treatments and hints and tips - some of which might help. I've put a couple of links in below which I hope are relevant.

Please do keep posting and let us know how you are getting on and I am sure that others will connect with you to share their thoughts and experiences as well.

    With very best wishes

    Peter

Despite many years of arthritis I've never experienced this. I do know, though, that those whose arthritis has caused nerve damage do experience things differently. How were your scans explained to you? Did you get a copy of the report? Maybe you should ask your GP to help explain it.
