Confused Newbie ?
Hi all, I’m so glad to have found this group. I have not yet been actually diagnosed with arthritis or rheumatism but my GP has sent off a referral to hospital. Both my parents suffered with arthritis & I suffered with Crohn’s disease for 15yrs until I had surgery for it having my bowel removed 20yrs ago now, but I know the disease can lead to arthritis/ rheumatism. I suffer with painful aching joints in my wrists, neck, and bad flare ups in left knee at times, making it very difficult to climb the stairs, or lift my left leg when sitting (had to buy an automatic car as even to use clutch was too painful when having a flare) I wanted to know if anyone had heard of a condition called Coccydynia? It’s a swelling of the coccyx & something my GP thinks I could be suffering with. Have been having to wear a Tens machine all day every day for about 8 months now & have been suffering this pain for almost 18mnths, would be interested to hear if anyone else has this condition and if so what is done for pain relief?
Apologies for the long winded post, but just wanted to get my background story out there 😊
thanks all
Deebz

Hi @Deebz I'm so glad you have found this group too 😊
I understand from your post that you have Crohn's disease and are being investigated for Arthritis I do hope you find out soon. This is Nicki's story which might be of interest to you:
The other major issue you seem to have is your Coccydynia. The NHS website give the following information which you may have already read:
You might also want too do a search here (on the black part of this page at the top towards the right click on the magnifying glass icon) for coccyx. There are lots of past threads.
Your post is not at all long winded.
Best wishes
Ellen.

Hi @Deebz
Welcome to the Online Community Forum, we are glad you have found this group.
Fingers Crossed your referral from the hospital comes through soon.
I personally haven't suffered with Coccydynia, but there might be other members but might be in the same position as you. In the meantime I have attached some information regarding the condition. I hope this will help you for the time being.
I have also attached some exercises which might help your knee a little bit.
Hope this helps.
Stay safe @Aj_x
