Hi, I'm a newby, thanks for accepting me
Hello, thanks for accepting me to join your community. I'm 71 years old and have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Although I haven't had any tests to confirm the diagnosis, the doc is saying that's what I have.
I was wondering if it's usual and accurate to have that diagnosis without having any tests? 🤔 How can they be sure without any tests to confirm it? 🤔
I'd appreciate any answers you can give me. Thanks. 😊

You’re 71, have just received a diagnosis of osteoarthritis and are wondering if it’s usual to be diagnosed without any tests. I’ve linked to a comprehensive page from the Versus Arthritis website all about osteoarthritis. If you scroll to the section on diagnosis, you’ll see that diagnosis is usually based on symptoms and a physical examination. The doctor can refer you for other tests if they think there may be other conditions involved:
