Medication decisions
Hello, I have psoriatic arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. I am on Methotrexate and Secukinumab, but the secukinumab not really helping as much as it once did. I have tried 3 different biologic drugs now, all of which eventually became less helpful.
My consultant has now told me I can decide between doubling the secukinumab dosage or try a new drug called Rinvoq.
I have no references to help me make this decision, so I wondered if anyone else has any experience using Rinvoq, please?

Hi @SeanF and welcome to the online community,
You have psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, and you’re currently taking methotrexate and secukinumab. Since your medication has recently become less effective, Your consultant has now asked you think about amending dosages or changing medications. You’re quite right to do as much research as possible about the two options, and also ask about the opinions of others. However, bear in mind that there’s no one path for everyone, and very often you have to try out a few medications before you find one that suits you.
The link below from Versus Arthritis might help you in your decision. It’s all about psoriatic arthritis and there’s a section on treatments that you might find useful:
Please do carry on posting if you have any further questions, or have a browse round the forum to see what discussions are going on. I’m sure you’ll be welcomed by our members.
