Importance of getting a MRI scan for knee pain.
Hello there. Just wondering if anyone has had a MRI scan to diagnose what is causing their knee pain? If so was the scan useful in planning your treatment / management of the pain? Did anyone get results that they weren't expecting? Also did more detail in a scan opposed to an x-ray or physical examination help? Thanks in anticipation of any responses, I would love to hear other people's experiences regarding scans

As you will see from the Diagnosis section in this article, a scan is not always necessary to determine the cause of your pain. You should discuss this with your GP or consultant.
Here are some more links to information on pain management and exercise:
You will also find personal stories and experiences of others that will help you.
