I've just had a steroid injection into my arthritic finger - OUCH!
Hi everyone, I started to notice how painful the fingers in my left hand were in the summer of 2020.
I had a phone consultation with my GP in January and saw him within a week. In days, I was offered a phone consultation with a specialist. Two days ago he gave me an injection in my finger. It hurt very much at the time and for a day later.
Today it is feeling rather better.
Thank goodness for the NHS (in conjunction with private medicine!
Now, though, should I take paracetamol/ibuprofen regularly and use Voltarol gel routinely?

Hi @Jim1952
I'm glad to see that your steroid injection has relieved some of the discomfort! Here is some of our information:
I'm not a medical professional myself so I would be inclined to say that if you check with a pharmacist or your GP then they would be able to advise your best way forward here.
Let us know how you get on!
