EVUSHELD
Over two weeks now since this was approved in the UK https://www.gov.uk/government/news/evusheld-approved-to-prevent-covid-19-in-people-whose-immune-response-is-poor yet AFAIK the UK government has yet to purchase a single dose. This is in sharp contrast to vaccination where enough doses were pre-ordered BEFORE approval to jab the entire country five times over.
I've asked my GP and my rheumatologist and neither knows if/when this will become available. Even the 'local' NHS Clinical Commissioning Group has no information other than knowing it has been approved for use.
Over two years now and we've done everything asked of us. This is the key to returning to at least a semblance of normality. There is absolutely no excuse for this not to have been ordered by now and at the very least planning for roll-out under way.

Thanks for the info, @scotleag . I've never heard of it. I had a google. Most of the info seems to come, as usual, from USA, where even they are saying it's hard to get hold of it. It does seem to work in a different, and better, way to vaccines, for up to six months, but they don't know how effective it'll be against the new omicron variants. Interesting reading though. https://creakyjoints.org/living-with-arthritis/coronavirus/daily-living/evusheld-monoclonal-antibody-prevent-covid-19-immunocompromised/
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
