Arthritis Severe in Hands
Thank you for adding me to the group. I have had osteoarthritis for many years. This year my hands are the worst ever. I was offered two new finger joints many years ago but because I was looking after my sick husband I could not. I try not to take too many pain killers. My problem is putting on my dogs leads and this morning the lead slipped out of my hand and one of my dogs ran across the road. All was well thankfully but it could have been a disastrous ending. Has any one else got this problem and do they know of any attachments to make it safer .

Hi @CornishK9
Welcome to the versus arthritis forum.
You’ve suffered with OA in your hands for some time which is giving you problems with getting the lead on your dogs. You’d like to hear from forum members who are aware of any devices that could be of assistance.
It might be worth considering visiting an orthodontist:

My only other suggestion is revisit the option of two new finger joints suggested some years ago.
I hope that you receive some useful suggestions for forum members.
Best Wishes

Thank you. I already have splints but since I was offered 2 new finger joints more of my fingers are just as painful.
