Scan

Hello, had shoulder scan yesterday. As well as some arthritis also told have fluid inflaming the tendons, which in turn is causing pain when lifting arm to do jobs. Are there exercises that I could be recommended to try please?

Welcome to the forum, @Kingfish4280 .

I see that you had a scan yesterday which revealed some arthritis and the build of fluid inflaming the tendons.

Here is a link to our website that discusses shoulder problems, explains the causes and suggests ways of managing the pain:

I wonder if you could secure a referral to a Physiotherapist, so as to be given advice on exercises more specific to you condition.

Good luck and keep posting to let us know how you get on.

To me, it all sounds consistent with osteoarthritis but, yes, seeing a physio would be a good way forward.

Also, check out Versus Arthritis's shoulder exercises https://www.versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/exercising-with-arthritis/exercises-for-healthy-joints/exercises-for-the-shoulders/ Do read it all first and ensure you start very gently. Going at it hell for leather is not a good way forward. Best of luck.

Hi I had an mri and now having shoulder replaced. If your not there yet a steroid injection might help and allow you to exercise more? My sports physio after a previous operation said the best exercise was to stand facing the wall about 6 inches away place your palm flat on the wall by your side so comfy. Then use your fingers and palms to crawl up the wall and same back down and repeat but don’t go beyond comfort in the stretch. Also the resistance bands are really good.

this app is quite good for simple stretches and strength
