Hello fellow arthritis sufferers, I’ve been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right thumb and surrounding area plus in my right knee, I’ve had steroid injections which only helped for about 3 weeks. My doctor has just prescribed Duloxetine, does anyone else take this and if so has it helped?

    Hello @GrannyM

Welcome to the online community and thank you for joining us.

So you have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in your right thumb and the surrounding area as well as in your right knee. You have tried steroid injections which only helped for a few weeks. Your doctor has just prescribed Duloxetine and you are wondering if what other peoples experiences are of this medication.

I have personally not heard of this medication so can not give a personal perspective. However, we do have a vast amount of members on all sorts of medication, so I am sure that there will be people that can give you some feedback. I have had steroid injections and know that we all have different ways and timescales in which we are effected by drugs. It is a very personal aspect to treating our conditions.

I have been able to find the information below for you that I think you may find of interest.

Please do let us know how you are getting on and please do continue to join in on the community.

    Take care
