5 year wait for replacement hip

Hi everyone,

I live in North Wales and have been waiting for a hip and knee replacement .

I was first referred to a consultantcin 2013, and now also have scoliosis and severe degeneration of the spine.

Has anyone else experienced this long a wait?

    Hello @Hipopnot and welcome to the community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that that will be your experience as well.

    I understand that you have arthritis in your hip and knee and are waiting for a replacement. Times can vary depending on your location, but I would suggest keep hassling your GP/Consultant, they are the only ones who can speed things up.     lovely to meet you. I have to say i am horrified by your wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Are you sure you haven't been forgotten? You must chase this up with your GP I have heard of long waits of maybe 3 years (especially with COVID) but 5? That's awful.
