Hi everyone I have been suffering excruciating pain in my legs after suffering back pain due to

several coughing fits, I have been given three different pain meds: but am unable to get around without a walking frame (indoors) or a wheelchair outside dr's don't seem to be bothering about a diagnosis. I am at a loss as to where to go from here, has anyone else experienced anything like this thanks

Hello @Back22 and welcome to the online community

You’ve been experiencing severe leg pain after bad coughing fits and pain medication does not seem to be working but you don’t know what to do next. Other members might have suggestions and advice - back pain is something that many of our members live with, and it can be very difficult to diagnose. It would help if you knew what the cause was, and perhaps you could ask your GP for further investigation. Perhaps you could also ask for a referral to a pain clinic where they not only look at medication but also other ways to deal with your pain, such as physiotherapy and exercise.

The Versus ArthritiS website has two useful pages on managing back pain, and gentle exercises to help relieve pain and strengthen your back. I’ve linked them below:

All the best, and do let us know how you’re getting on,
