Hello, I have just joined the group hoping to gain some knowledge/tools to deal with arthritis. My very busy GP (same everywhere I guess) told me I have arthritis after an earlier diagnosis of carpel tunnel. Pain but no swelling in both thumb joints, have suffered pain from different joints for as long as I can remember. Prescribed naproxen but haven’t noticed any real improvement , stopped them and tried Turmeric (because of online reviews). Pain still the same with either treatment. Sorry for the long post !

I found that Capsaicin cream helps to take the pain away on my thumbs for a while. Only available on prescription though and it is made from chillis so be wary of getting it near your eyes by washing the fingers that you applied it with thoroughly. This is from experience as I managed to rub my eyes once and the cream was still on my fingers.
