New to the group
Hi. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) quite some years ago but is the first time I have ever posted. I hope to share my experiences and also learn from others about the condition. I work full time and currently do with driving to work and different locations throughout the day about a 60 hour week in a physically demanding job. My flare up’s are now getting more painful and frequent. I suffer mainly with my neck, wrist’s,knees, lower back and feet. My main flare up’s is my feet and ankles which swell up and become to painful to walk on without crutches. If anyone has any advice or tips on flare up’s on feet and ankles it would be much appreciated. Thank you and once again hello.

Good morning @JayJay66
Welcome to the Online Community, it's great to have you here.
I see you have had AS for quite a while and initially you could manage your physical job but now you are having flares more often and your main issue is pain and swelling in the feet and ankles.
Here is our information on that
It's not perfectly relevant but it does have some sections on self care and specific exercises for the foot and ankle. It seems to me that it may be time to talk to your Health team again to let them know of this escalation in your symptoms, I'm sure there will be things they can try meds wise to get you back to your previous state.
In the mean time have a look around the rest of the community and see if there are any tips for you, maybe in the Living in Arthritis area
Take care
