Hello to all other arthritis sufferers…..
Hi there, I have had osteoarthritis for many years now and I’ve put up with it, as we all do, but I would really like to know of any new medications, tips, how to manage if I had a knee replacement. I live alone and only have an upstairs bathroom! 😟
I would love to go on holiday but I know I wouldn’t be able to walk any distance……any tips would be gratefully received ☺️

Hello @judijagt and welcome to the online community
We are so glad you found us. You have had osteoarthritis for many years and are looking for tips and ways of coping if you have a knee replacement.
Well, you have come to the right place because numbers of our members have shared their concerns and also their tips pre and post operation with us on the community. These I hope will give you some answers but will also bring up some more questions so do stay in touch and we can do our best to help. I attach some links for you to look at
The Occupational Therapy department at your hospital will be able to advise you about specific equipment which could help you post op. i.e. commodes, extra grab rails etc.
As for a holiday, I hope that you will be able to find a wonderful place providing a ground floor room with a flat promenade close by, which will just suit your recovery needs. But I am jumping ahead! First information gathering , then decision making after discussions with your consultant , operation then recuperation. Keep in touch and let us know how it is all progressing .
Best wishes
Poppyjane

Hi Poppyjane
I will definitely be in touch again after I’ve see the Physiotherapist . The hospital have cancelled my appt to see them, until I’ve had some physiotherapy, so I’m in no man’s land at the moment 😳.
