Knee replacement
Hi Guys , nice to meet you all , I have a question I’m hoping you might help me with 10 years ago I had a procedure that led to a fracture and subsequently a malunion of my leg bone below the knee , this has caused over time arthritis of my knee , I’m due a full knee replacement in 6 wks time , have any of you folk had anything like this as I’m nervous that it could create complications , with the operation , unfortunately I didn't really discuss this properly with the consultant , I was just so grateful that they were going to do something about my extreme pain , Thanks

Hi @Max178
welcome to the community and congrtulations of having your knee replacement surgery coming up in the near future. It is only natural to be nervous, if you still would like to speak to your surgeon about your concerns you could phone his secretary and ask if it possible for him to phone you back. Or on admission you may well have the chance to discuss it with your surgion before you actually go in for the surgery. As a last option you could also spak to your GP who may well be able to speak to your surgeon on your behalf.
As regards the actual surgery her is a link about the surgery
here is a link for knee exercises
I am sure that our wonderful members will also be able to share their experiences with you
Best Wishes
Sharon
