Good morning all.

I have just joint the community but have been aware of Verses Arthritis for a while. I’m 45 was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis at 40. I had a hip replacement in November last year but suffered nerve complications meaning I lost the use of my knee for over 2 months. This made my recovery slower. I’m on the mend now though but my good hip suffered as a result of over compensating while my other hip and knee recovered. I am now having my remaining hip replaced in 2 months and I’m hopeful that this one will be straightforward.

I look forward to speaking with others who are in a similar position.

Hello @Bishbosh and welcome to the online community

You have had OA for the last five years and recently had a hip replacement and are waiting for a second hip operation. Having had nerve complicatons with the first surgery you are hoping that the second one will be straight forward. We certainly hope so and will be thinking of you when the time comes.

Many of our members have had one or two total hip replacements, some in a staggered way and others both together. As some one in the younger age bracket I hope you will find this link useful

Maybe this some of these exercises may be manageable now, but some will have to wait awhile .Certainly hydrotherapy is a great way to exercise muscles while taking the strain off the joints.
