Chicken pox

Hi,

I just want to vent on here... I saw some friends and their children on Friday, got a message from them on Saturday evening saying one of them now had chicken pox. So, phoned 111 yesterday and when I finally got through stated I was on MTX and had contact with someone who had chicken pox. She was 'who told you to phone?' Err, the information booklet I was given before starting the medication! She told me that I needed to phone a pharmacist and gave me a number of one that was open. It was a challenge to get through - and kept being told to phone back later. Eventually got through and it was 'if you've not got any symptoms there's nothing to do' and 'you need to avoid contact with chicken pox because you are on MTX' - the thing is, I didn't (and my friends didn't) know the daughter had chicken pox when I saw them!

Grrrr...

It sounds as if it's just one of those horrible things. But, being of a suspicious nature (Mr SW will vouch for that😊) that seems like a very quick diagnosis of chicken pox, especially over a Bano Holiday weekend. Are you sure your friends had no inkling of something amiss beforehand? All my friends and family know I'm, paranoid about such things .

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

All I know is that my friend said that their daughter is 'starting to look quite spotty' - over a day and a bit after I saw them.

It can happen that quickly one minute all is well and the next those spots appear.

There is antiviral meds they can give you if you catch it chances are you'll know as an adult before you get any spots @JenHB because us adults can feel quite poorly if we get it.

Good luck I hope you don't get it.
