Hello I am new today,

I have just had another X-Ray last month and there some small changes but the Government keep moving the parameters to STOP you seeking an Orthopedic Consultant on the NHS, which is sole destroying and there must a sizeable chunk of the population who do not have private medical insurance.

Furthermore, with the conditions that I have makes even worse as my weight has ballooned due to taking Gabapentin and I do know if there is some alternative as I keep getting put in "Last-chance-Saloon" by my GP!" All so the report from the X-Ray Department said there was evidence of self-neglect!? But I all ways get dressed etc.; according to the weather and all so it was not my fault that I worked in a Factory that was poorly paid and the conditions were not fit for purpose! Furthermore it was not my fault that I had a serious accident when I was younger-in-life?! So can it be self-neglect!?

Moreover, I have been in pain since the two-weeks in November and with the pain I was unable to cook a meal for myself. So I ended up throwing a food I had bought to see me through Christmas and into the New Year and I felt like a criminal with all these people who have little to eat! So at the moment I am only buying things that will not go off and will be easily heated up in the Microwave!

I will be physically making a complaint to the Practice Manager over this report as this was not clarified to me when the results were in or I was not asked to come to the Surgery for a short discussion?!

I hope this is O'Kay as I have never spoken on a Community Platform before, so someone will have to put me right, thank-you.

All so what do Tags me and all so what do the symbols mean at the bottom of conversation box!?

Stay safe and take-care now.

    Hello @Lynx999

Lovely to meet you and welcome you to the online community. It sounds as though you have had a really tough time lately with multiple diagnoses and difficulty getting the help you want. I hope you succeed in getting your referral to a consultant. Many of our members have to be quite persistent with their GPs in order to get referred you are absolutely not alone unfortunately. I don't know what percentage of people have private healthcare, but I agree with you and doubt it's very high.

You have posted well for a first time ever poster to be honest.

The symbols at the bottom. The ones inside the box you type in are as follows:

the face one if you press it brings these up:😊

the second if you click it and have photos on your laptop or phone you can add them,

the third is to pop a link in I will do one for you I click on it and a box appears and I have added this it might help you:

the final one like a paperclip is to upload a file which you most likely won't need to.

The symbols underneath other people's posts are as follows:

To quote someone else's post you click on quote and then type your reply underneath.

The other three 'agree', 'like' and 'thank you' you click on to show support to someone or thank them if they have helped you.

I have clicked 'like' underneath yours to demonstrate.

You can 'tag' your post to help other people find it easily if they maybe have fibromyalgia for instance.

Sorry that is an awful lot to take in isn't it? I hope it's clearer than mud for you. No need to do all of that straight away many members never do.

I'll leave you now do stay safe yourself

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

    Hi @Lynx999

I think you've done just fine for a first ever post. I'm glad you've found us we are a nice group of people who all understand the pain and frustrations that come with living with Arthritis.

I am so upset for you that someone said there was evidence of self neglect! Whatever did they mean by that? You are clearly an intelligent and articulate person. Quite shocking I hope you get to the bottom of it and can see a specialist soon.

Microwavable food will do when you are in pain and food preparation is painful. I expect we all do it at times.

Don't worry about all the symbols yet, I hardly use any of them though i do quite like the smiliesπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘οΈ

Can be useful when typing online if you say something like as a joke and worry someone might take offense you can add something like a laughing faceπŸ˜‚ I used to do the winky ones until one of my daughters said it could be seen as suggestive😳 that was embarrassed face!

    Anyway lovely to meet you

you stay safe too and take care

    Toni x

Hello Toni and Ellen (the Moderator,)

Thank-you for those lovely and kind words it was very kind and endearing!

I suspect I was not meant to see the results in printed form? But the Doctor I was supposed to see was still off poorly! So the surgery had to hire a locum to cover the doctor's appointments who was still off poorly! So a little "boo-boo" may have been dropped there? 🀭

Stay safe and take-care now! x

So this is why we are all Versus πŸ†š Arthritis! x
