Hello @Andreajane
Welcome to the online community and thank your for joining us.
So you recently joined a local swimming pool. You went out shopping and your knees are now very painful. You are wondering if going swimming would help the pain or if you should rest them instead.
It really is not something I could say for sure. Some people might find it helpful to go swimming and others may find it too much and need to rest instead - it entirely depends on how your body reacts that is important. I can say that swimming is a recommended exercise for someone with arthritis because while being in the water, it takes the strain off your joints. However, any exercise that your body can manage comfortably is recommended.
I have found the following information below that I think you might find interesting.
Please do continue to keep getting involved in the community, we are always looking to make new friends.
