Can’t fit in my hearing aids anymore
I have very painful and immobile arthritic hands and I’m unable to wear my hearing aids anymore, I’m stone deaf in my left ear and my right ear is fast heading the same way. I have otosclerosis and the medics suggested hearing aids, I bought some, at great expense and initially they worked wonders, that was about 10 years ago, they undoubtedly would still work but my hands have got so bad it’s impossible to fit them in. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m at my wits end. Lizzie D

All I can suggest is that you ask your audiologist for advice. I know they make glasses with hearing aids attached but I'm not sure that'd help.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi @Earache1
I've tried various searches, such as “hearing aid applicator” but not found anything useful to help with fitting hearing aids with limited dexterity. I did note the wide variety of aids now available but assumed you have “ear buds” type that just go into the ear.
Do ask your local specialist about what they can suggest - mine is part of my optician practice. Alternatively, the audiology department of your local NHS should be able to help - you cannot be the first with this problem.
Anyone with other suggestions?
