Am I expecting too much from methotrexate
I have been on methotrexate circa 3 years but do not seem to get the relief from RA I appear to be being promised by the medical team.
I continue to explain the pain I’m having and how debilitating the condition is and the normal response is:there is nothing showing in my bloods or X-rays/scans.
Things are a little more complicated in that I have RA with connective tissues overlap.
so am I expecting too much this is the norm as opposed to flares and has certainly got worse over the last 6 months

Hi @MikeyRH thanks for joining
So you have been on methotrexate circa 3 years but do not seem to be getting relief from the RA. Also things are more complicated for you with connective tissue.
You may wish to request a medical review through your nurse or consultant, as sometimes medications do need to be changed.
A flare up can occur if you have been perhaps stressed, anxious or overdoing things but as this has been for so long now, it would be a good idea to speak to your rheumatology department.
This is the link to RA which you may find helpful

Thanks Janey4
The challenge of a getting to see the consultant team as appointments seem pretty scare, but that won’t stop me chasing them
