Diet and osteoarthritis
As the osteoarthritis begins to progress in my hip, the pain is becoming more constant. I have tried various painkillers (Naproxen worked to a certain degree). I am now just taking a couple of ibuprofen each day and not walking too far. I read somewhere that red meat and dairy can add to the inflammation and I've decided to follow a vegan diet for 2-3 weeks to see if this helps. I wondered if anyone had tried anything similar?

I think the general consensus is that you should just eat a healthy balanced diet, although the Mediterranean diet has much to recommend it. I don’t think there’s much evidence that vegan diets make much difference. Anything that keeps the weight off helps reduce strain on the joints, but try to keep up the exercise (but not to the extent that it causes a flare up in pain) as strengthening the muscles around the affected joint can also help with pain management.

What I did was go on YouTube and looked for videos on inflammatory foods and anti inflammatory foods and eliminated or added accordingly. It has worked wonders.

I found a few articles that support the idea of vegan diet (that is also low in processed foods) helping
