Osteoarthritis
Hi everyone
Ive had arthritic knee and foot for few years due to torn meniscus and hallux limitus... due to have op soon on foot. I also have arthritis in my spine... due to see Consultant again as worsening pain on daily basis. Over the last 6 months every joint in my body is painful and morning stiffness is agonising. Im 69 but feel 99. If I sit down even for a few minutes I can hardly walk... more of a shuffle. I do try and keep on the go.
Ive had loads blood tests that dont show inflammation so GP says wear and tear.
I had really bad sciatica 2 years ago and was given Pregabalin which eventually eased the agony I was in. After a few months I decided to reduce the high dosage and the sciatica was virtually gone. Just take 50mg at night as sometimes pain when lying down in same position.
Now GP wants to increase Pregabalin again to high dose as Im in pain but its not sciatica pain. I dont know what to do.
Anybody got any answers please.

Hi @Marg69
I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much bother again and I completely understand that you want to try and stay off the meds. It's really tough when you feel so bad every morning too, let alone when your bloods show now inflammation. Depending on how you look at this, it can be so frustrating as the inflammation could still be there, just not at the time of bloods. Anyway, I would have an open discussion with your GP about the meds, it's your body and you need to be able to work together to devise a treatment plan going forward. If the pain is affecting you every night, and then you're waking up stiff, it may be worth just considering the meds for a short while to see if there is an improvement, but again it's your body and up to you.

Why can't you put your foot down for four weeks, Abigail? Have you some problem with it?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
