Hello @Locarno
Your fingers and hand are concerning you and you are wondering about what treatments might give you more function. Your GP is the best person to ask about the effects the medication has on your particular condition. I hope these links provide you with some more information to help your discussion with them.
There are members of the community who have problems with their hands and I hope they will be able to share their experiences and tips with you.
Take care

Hi Locarno
Thank you for your posting on the forum . You have asked if there are any operations, injections to help give you more function, you also mention that you are on medication to stop the active arthritis. I see that Poppyjane has provided you with links for our information on managing arthritis in your hands and I hope these are helpful. As Poppyjane has said you should speak to the health care professional who is caring for your arthritis about the issues you are having with your hands. I am unsure what type of arthritis you have or the medication you are taking.
You could also speak to your GP or Healthcare team about the possibility of seeing a hand therapist. These are occupational therapists or physiotherapists who have done further training to specialise in treating conditions affecting the hands, arms and shoulders. I have put a link below to our information about hand therapists.
I hope this information is helpful. I would also encourage you to call us here on the helpline where we can talk through your concerns with you. You can call us on 0800 5200 520 and we are open Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm.
Best Wishes
Dawn

Thanks everyone but health care in my area (cambridge) is poor, I have been referred to OT but there is a 6 month waiting list, I have sent a message via mychart to the Consultant several weeks ago but have not heard back. I cannot seen the Rheumatology nurses they are on phone contact only and they told me that how the NHS is now. So you are left on your own. thank goodness for places like this. I am thinking of going private to a hand specialist.
