Vitamin D - it really does help!
It would be impossible to over estimate the importance of vitamin D and not just regarding arthritis. people of my age group (50s/60s) will no doubt remember having a horrid spoonful of cod liver oil every day! Well, our parents were right, as is so often the case. One teaspoon of cod liveroil a day provides just over the daily requirement. You can, of course, buy all manner of expensive versions of cod liver oil (tablets, capsules etc) but I buy a cheap, non branded bottle from my local pharmacy, 100% cod liver oil, less than £1 a bottle and lasts a month. We never got enough sunshine in the UK, which is probably why our parents gave us that daily dose. It's still the case today, despite global warming etc - all of us, whether you have arthritis or not, should be having that spoonful every day. It works!

I believe vitamin D is one of the only (possibly the only) vitamin supplements which the NHS recommends: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vitamins-and-minerals/vitamin-d/ I generally trust the NHS for advice far more than other sources which often have a commercial motive or have no reliable, proven basis for their advice and opinions.
