thanks for letting me join. Ive had arthritis for some years but this year it has spread to my hips. GP cant get medication right - so all I do is take a tramodol when it is bad . Unfortuntely NHS is over whelmed - recently became very dizzy which stops just about everything. Had to refer for private treament for dizzyness - how many of us have had to rely on private treatment like physio etc just to cope - and what about those who can't afford to go private.

My GP was supposed to have referred me to ENT for dizzyness 10 months ago but hasn't and tells me both conditions arthritis and dizzyness are not urgent.

Id love to hear other members expreiences - dont let my woes depress - its just good to talk

    Hi Art,

I'm sorry yours has spread but that's often the case. Mine spread all over years ago but then mine is RA (OA rocked up later) and that's what it does.

It's true the NHS is overwhelmed - and understaffed, even before covid joined the party. My husband broke the habits of a lifetime and got his second hip replacement privately. Sometimes it has to be done.

Dizzyness? I guess there are loads of causes. Ideally you might have \benign Positional Vertigo (check it out on the NHS site) My husband and elder son have both had it. It's very easily relieved though it can keep coming back. Or, I guess you might have an ear wax problem. I had that and got them syringed tho' not everyone does that now. I'm in Scotland. I can also feel a bit dizzy if my BP gets out of control. I'm afraid meds are the only option for that given that I have a healthy diet. I exercise as much as possible but the arthritis does preclude anything much.

Anyway, I hope you'll get by OK and enjoy being here.
