Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sense of Smell
Hi. Does anyone know if recovery of loss of sense of smell due to covid is hindered by having RA or on Methotrexate? I’d be really interested in hearing other people’s experiences. Thanks.

Briefly, I've no idea but it wouldn't surprise me. There is so much about covid that we still don't know. And a fair bit about the vaccines. Long covid seems to strike a most disparate group of people in all sorts of ways. You don't take a nasal inhaler do you? I've had no sense of smell for years and I blame that.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

My daughter has a non-arthritic autoimmune condition ( she doesn't take MTX) and after she'd had covid it took over 6 months for her sense of smell and taste to come back to something resembling normal.

Thanks for your replies. Jamie, can I ask how your daughter is now and I hope you don’t mind me asking how old she is as that might have a bearing on recovery rates.

Hi Jamie. I’m sure she must be overjoyed now! Thanks for info.
