Swollen Foot

I have arthritis in my toe, however last Monday my whole foot swelled up which has not happened before. Usually it’s just my toe which is sore and swollen. I’ve been limping all week and things don’t seem to be getting any better. Is this usual? Does the affected area extend as time goes on? I’ve had this for about 10 years. Any advice/experiences would be much appreciated.

A swollen foot could be due to a number of causes, including arthritis, but it would be best if you contacted your GP to discuss this. Here’s a link to some information on osteoarthritis of the foot from the Versus Arthritis website. It also recommends that you check with your GP for a diagnosis:
