Hello fellow sufferers.I fell and fractured L1 of my spine,on 23rd December 2021an x Ray showed that I had alsobroken my back in 2009,I remember the incident in 2009 but was never x rayed, just told by GP to rest for a few weeks. After a week in the Spinal unit,I was discharged with a back brace and told the break would take up to 10 weeks to repair itself.6 maths on I am still suffering acute pain after limited movement.when lying down or sitting the pain demonises consiiderbly.

The strange thing is the L1 is not where the pain is it is much lower.

I have now been told I have osteoporosis

Welcome to the forum @wyndham . I understand that you have broken your back on two occasions, 2009 and December 2021. The first incident was not confirmed until you were x-rayed for the 2021 break. In 2009 you were advised to rest. His time a back brace has not led to any diminution in pain, which is much lower than the break. You have been told that you have osteoporosis.

Here is some information on osteoporosis:

You do not say if you have been offered any physiotherapy. If not ask your GP for a referral to a physiotherapist and a pain clinic.

We whish you luck and let us know how you get on.
