Hi all, I joined for your opinions on my current situation. Back in 2013 I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, given a leaflet about methotrexate and sent on my way! I never thought about it again but carried on with the Naproxen.

So since then I’ve lost 4 stone and have just got on with life, I also have under-active thyroid and struggle with tiredness and aches, stiffness and pains. I’ve had various issues, policeman’s heal for a year, shoulder pain which at one point made me pass out, clicking ankles and knees, painful finger joints and at Christmas a dodgy painful knee which sometimes I couldn’t walk on! Not once did it cross my mind that it could be the psoriatic arthritis.

Anyway after a busy day last Saturday, just normal stuff, housework etc, the exhaustion hit me like a brick wall at teatime, literally stiff as a board, headache (migraine like), sore eyes, painful joints, this carried on into Sunday and for most of the day I laid around.

Monday I called the doctor, concerned it may be my thyroid, but the doc suggested it was a flare up of the psoriatic arthritis. I hadn’t really considered it to be honest. I have been so so tired this week and the stiffness has continued along with sore hips, eyes and hands.

Could psoriatic arthritis be raising its ugly head, and I’m wondering if I haven’t taken this serious enough 😕

I would welcome any advice, I’ve had blood tests this week and am due to see the doctor on Thursday.

Thanking you in advance

Rachael

    Hi @rachie

Welcome to the versus arthritis forum.

You were diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis many years ago and have had to cope with numerous aches and pains as a result. More recently you’ve suffered from severe exhaustion along with stiffness, headaches and pain. The doctor has suggested that the cause could be a psoriatic arthritis flare-up. You’ve got some blood test scheduled for this week but you’d like to hear from any forum members who can offer any advice.

Whilst you await some feedback, there may be some useful input on our website. Here are a couple of relevant links:
