Gosh @cluemoon
Chase them up! Via your GP or if you have a named consultant via their secretary.
What if your name has somehow been overlooked? I know we've been through a pandemic, but you ought surely to have heard something by now?
Take care

PS by the way I am going to be singing 'Blue Moon' all night nowπ

Ah well, I am a City fan but Bluemoon was already taken!! Its osteo (already had 1 hip done). This is Wales which is why I was asking, the waiting time is far longer than in England. I had a 2 page letter last month giving me a load of blurb about how lucky I was to be able to 'log on' to get advice about things like diet. No reference to a date. My thoughts? That money could have been put towards facilties or staff to speed things up. P.S. I have no intention of logging on! π

I still think you should chase it though 4 years is far too long I have a friend in Wales @wazz42 she had her knee done a bit back she might know more...
Take care

Lists are long here in Wales. The problem is that there are not enough specialists. Some parts of England are much worse, friends tell me! But do check with your GP to see if they can hurry things along and ask if you can see a physio while you are waiting.
I had my knee done a number of years ago in Ipswich (now I live in Cardiff) and was referred to a physio about a year before the op. The exercises she gave really helped and I also got a basic static-cycle and did some each day (while listening to the Archers!!) which helped strengthen the muscles to prepare them for the surgery. It also did help with mobility.
Walk as much as you can and use stairs - I know it's painful but it helps prepare the leg muscles for the surgery and recovery. Do exercises form the Versus Arthritis site.
Don't give up. Good luck.

Hi @cluemoon u can ring the appointment and booking office of whichever hospital u have been referred to. Ask them to check that the referral is still on the system. Ask them if it is marked as routine or urgent. If u have been referred as routine, go back to Ur GP and ask them if the referral can be expedited. Hope this helps.
