Rheumatoid arthritis

Options

Hello everyone,I’ve just been diagnosed today after blood test as having rheumatoid arthritis and am feeling scared and overwhelmed,it all started suddenly a few days ago with pain I have never experienced in my life before to the point I was crying in every joint in my body from my fingers down to me toes,I have been referred to a specialist to sort medication out,the doctor was really positive saying 20 years ago I would prob have ended up in a wheelchair (which then terrified me!) but said medication is so good now treating the cause and not just pain management but I’m terrified!

    Hi @Justme

Welcome to the online community, great seeing you posting.

Yes when you are first diagnosed it is very scary and confusing, fear of the unknown has a lot to do with it.Fortunatly there are a lot of people on this forum that can empathise and understand what you are going through and are willing to help you through your journey,do go and chat with them it often helps to chat to those who have gone through what you have and are further along the road.

Its good you are seeing a specialist and wil get the medication you need to help with your diagnosis and pain.

Hope these links help in some way.

    All the best Christine
