Mike1
I am so very sorry to have to let everyone know that @Mike1 has died.
Mike was a stalwart member of the online Community visiting nearly every day since he joined in 2019. He supported everyone with advice, his own experience or just a friendly word. He also initiated 'Pet's Corner' thread and the 'Levity' threads.
Many of you will know that Mike was diagnosed with cancer and has been largely absent in recent months while he had treatment. Sadly it was not successful.
He will be sadly missed by us all. Val's café are raising a glass to his memory.
Rest in Peace @Mike1
My best wishes to you all
Ellen

So sad 😞

He will be missed more than he might have realised. His life really was blighted by arthritis, having been an active member of the armed forces, eventually confined to a wheelchair, but he never lost his fighting spirit, nor his devotion to his puss Vixen, and gave his advice and friendship freely to the people on this forum . RIP Mike x

I found this picture of Mike that he had posted some time ago, with the legend “Me, in a previous life”. He really was a character, who lead a very full life before arthritis, and then cancer, felled him. Let’s hope he’s tearing up roads in heaven now. Perhaps this is how he’d really like to be remembered? That, and loving cat-daddy to Vixen, and a loving brother to his sis, who did so much for him. Xx

R.I.P. Mike.
The forum needs more guys like you, not fewer.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Mike's honesty and tongue-in-cheek humour will be much missed.
How good that he found an outlet in this forum where he could safely express his frustrations and generously share his experience with those who are struggling. Mike's family, VA and Cornwall have lost an irreplaceable character!
Thank you to all who give of themselves to support others as Mike did.

For those who knew how much Mike loved his puss Vixen, I’m pleased to report she has stolen someone else’s heart and is now “reserved”. Mike would be so pleased.

You occasionally come across someone by chance who inspires you to be a better person. Despite his condition, he commented but never complained, always ready to offer help.
A sad loss to the world.
