Good morning @Mezz Welcome to the Versus Arthritis online community.
I see from your post you are now on the waiting list for a right hip replacement (THR).
I am going to attach some information about hip surgery for you to read, but first I wanted to assure you that you are absolutely not a freak due to your posture. Have you considered walking aids at all? They can and do help some people stand slightly straighter.
The best method to secure the most appropriate walking aid is via a physiotherapist. In many areas you can refer yourself.
This is really worth a read if you haven't already:
I wonder whether this thread might be of interest to you:
Getting a diagnosis of Arthritis affects most people's self confidence. If you feel it would help to talk to an actual voice please do consider ringing our Helpline
My very best wishes
Ellen.

Morning @Mezz Welcome to teh forum from me too😊
You are not a freak!
Mind you I can't judge how you feel when this first hit me a huge part of my response was embarrassment. Fear that I was letting my husband down and would show up my kids at the school gate so i do get it.
I very very much hope your operation will really help you and you will be standing up straighter.
There have been a lot of hip ops this year I will try to remember some names and they might pop by to tell you their experience: @Lilymary @RogerBill @Coddfish @LizB12 there's more but maybe this thread will help you feel positive about your operation?
Take care
Toni x
