Hi, I've been using Naproxen for several years. It's quite good but I think 400mg ibuprofen is just as effective to be honest. Hope your doc has also given you some sort of stomach protection if you are planning to use Naproxen for more than a couple of weeks, these anti-inflammatories are not great on the gut. Good luck with your physio, I've heard they can be really helpful.

Hi @Tobymitzy
Not sure what you know about Naproxen and the other meds so thought I'd send you this useful info about the different painkillers, it might help with you discussions with your GP
Painkillers and NSAIDs | Side-effects, uses, time to work (versusarthritis.org)
Hope you find something that works for you :)

Hi
my Doctor gave me Naproxen ( 500mg twice a day) and Omeprazole to help protect the lining of the stomach. I find it quite effective, but only take it when the pain is worse and then usually for no more than a couple of days at a time, as I feel that it can "bung" me up a bit!
Otherwise I tend to take Paracetamol which is not as effective.
Take care.
