I have arthrites in both knees and soon will have to think about surgery but I’m really scared because 6 years ago I had a pulmonary embolism and I’m on blood thinners for life. As this operation is high risk for blood clots I’m terrified, has anyone else gone through this

This will need to be discussed with your consultant and anaesthetist prior to surgery. I think they'll probably be used to it.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

They will know what to do to help you @nannyhicks49
They are the experts and will have dealt with this issue many times. Honestly try to not worry although I can see why you are worried I would be too in your shoes.
Take care
