Advice please.

Hello All.

Looking for some help & advice please.

I have recently started to develop swelling, lumps, pain and stinging of my clavicles.

The lumps can be seen by eye and GP has felt them and said they felt hot. Had an urgent xray, which showed nothing?

I have nodal, osteo and PS arthritis. Could it be anything to do with these conditions?

At my wits end! Im 53 going on 93.

Please can someone help me?

    Hi @TicketyBoo,

Welcome to the online community :) Thank you for joining and sharing what's going on for you.

Sorry to hear what you're experiencing. When you say PS Arthritis, are you referring to psoriatic arthritis (PsA)? We're not sure if this could be something to do with your PsA, but it's always best to check with your GP or healthcare professional. I wonder if they've referred you to a dermatologist in the past or at present. This way it's good to have another specialist take a look and see what may be causing these lumps and how to manage what's going on.

Hopefully healthcare professionals can refer you to the right places and have this checked soon.

    Best wishes,

    Sharmin

It might be worth a check with your rheumatologist. I have RA and I have RA nodules in several places. I don't think PsA gives rise to nodules but sometimes the boundaries between these autoimmune forms of arthritis can be blurred. If it were nodules I don't think they'd register on an x-ray. My advice would be to give your rheumatology helpline a call.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Wow! I am currently growing a lump on one end of my clavicle too!

Not sure if it's anything two worry about, but am due to see 'someone' soon anyway so was planning to bring it up myself.

No injury as i know of possibly a bit of OA I thought.

If I find out anything I will let you know.

    Take care

    Hi @TicketyBoo

At the beginning of my PsA my shoulders were probably my most affected joints. In fact when I was examined before being put on biologics my shoulders were 2 of the 3 joints they listed as required to show swelling before being put on biologics. Looking at my shoulders in the mirror these days they are a different shape than they used to be. There's a definite lump at the top end of each collarbone and a further lump to the front of each shoulder. It almost looks like my shoulders are curving upwards and forwards. I'd agree with @stickywicket that it's probably sensible to contact your rheumatology clinic and be seen by someone.
