Thank you for joining the forum 😊 and for your question about food and arthritis.
With food and arthritis, it can help to have a healthy balanced diet which includes fruits, veg and proteins such as beans, pulses, meat, fish, or eggs. Also choosing alternatives can help, for example, if you eat meat choosing leaner cuts of meat or having semi skimmed or skimmed milk. Aside from this, while there isn't necessarily anything to cut out, some people find some foods effect their arthritis. Here's a little information from the Versus Arthritis website:
'Some people feel that certain foods are bad for arthritis and that cutting them out helps with their symptoms. Some of the foods people worry about include:
- citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons and grapefruit
- vegetables from the nightshade family including potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, chillies and aubergines
- gluten, a protein found in pasta, bread and cereals'
This may be something to just monitor and see if this is the case for yourself.
Best wishes,
Sharmin
