Hello everybody,

I would like to explain my situation and maybe someone could help me with advices. I’m 25 -years old, I’m a woman  and I recently started to feel very weird symptoms in my joints  about three weeks which I wasn’t experienced before. One of my knee suddenly became swollen, hot and red. I went to walk in centre straightaway to find out what’s wrong with me. Doctor told me it could be bursitis which make sense, as I’m working in a child care and I’m always on my knees. It disappeared after three -four days and I started feel pain literally everywhere. My toes, my fingers, hands generally, ankles, elbows , heels, my upper arms (sometimes) .. knees is okay for now. The pain is very weird, it’s sudden and it’s not very painful, but very discomforting. And it lasts about 5-15 seconds and then again after few hours/ minutes. The pain is sudden and without any reasons. I don’t have any swellings anymore and I don’t have stiffness at all and I’m able to use my hands/legs without any discomfort.  I went to the GP and explained my situation. I did full blood count, CRP, RF factor and CCP antibodies tests. All came back negative. What shall I do? I have read a lot of stories with seronegative arthritis. I’m scared and I’m panicking everyday, I can’t do my everyday tasks because of my depressive mood. Shall I ask my GP to refer me to rheumatologist or ask for MRI? As I have read x-ray might be too early to do. Any advices will be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

    Hello @Svettyss

Welcome to the online community and thank you for joining us. I hope that you find this a safe and friendly space where you can continue to share your story with us all.

So you are a 25 year old female who recently started to experience weird symptoms in your joints. One of your knees suddenly became very swollen, hot and red. When you consulted a doctor thay advised that it could be bursitis which you thought would make sense since you work in a nursery and spend a lot of time on your knees. However it went away three or four days later to be replaced with pain everywhere. Your toes, fingers, hands, ankles, elbows, heels and even in your upper arms. You no longer have any swelling and when you had blood tests, everything came back as normal. You have read a lot of stories about Seronegative Arthritis and wonder if you should go back to GP and ask to be referred to a Rheumatologist or for a MRI. Your looking for any advice.

It sounds like you have been really going through it and I can understand you feeling scared and panicky. It is very frustrating when we feel like we have lost control of our bodies and they no longer do what we want them to do. I can assure you though, that although you are feeling like this at the moment, it will not always be like this.

In the case of what to do regarding your doctors, if it was me, I would definitely go back and ask for a referral. You may have to be firm and fight your corner but remember you know your own body best so you know better than anyone else when something does not feel right.

Ive found the below links to information that I think will be some help to you so please do have a read when you have some time.

Please do let us know how you are getting on and do continue to keep getting involved.

    Take care
