Any advice on good pain meds?
Hi I have osteoarthritis and aged 46 I had 2 hip replacements(5yrs ago). Then I have developed osteoarthritis in my big toe joint(which needs surgery) my knees and my shoulders(which need surgery)
At the beginning of June this year I developed a very sore right leg which prompted me to go to a walk in surgery( wasn't even examined) I then went to casualty and an xray was taken(told I was fine and told to go home) I then went to my own Dr's surgery and told I'd pulled a muscle.... anyway I then received a routine appointment from my surgeon who took another x Ray as he didn't like the look of the one from casualty..... yes I'd been walking around on a broken hip replacement for 7 wks and admitted that day for emergency surgery as my implant had broken inside my femur... I have since had my femur broken and sawn in half then opened like a book to remove broken implant and to fit a newer bigger one. I have had to put my shoulder surgery off for 6 months to allow my body to heal from this surgery. My whole body is in pain from either this surgery or the osteoarthritis that is in my body. My leg doesn't want to do what my brain is telling it to do and while I have been in bed there is now a few times that I haven't been able to move my arms.
I have just been to my gp surgery to ask for pain relief and i have had no joy instead was asked if I was depressed. 🤣🤣.
Anyone have any ideas for pain relief?

Morning @Mother1
What a scary story you tell of your broken hip and it not being noticed.
Our members can tell you what pain relief they have tried of course although pain relief is very much an individual thing., While you wait though I thought I'd post you this link:
this too in case it's of use:
Best wishes

You've had a very tough time and, I'd guess, because of all that, you are probably more familiar with pain meds than most people on here. As Ellen says, it's a personal thing anyway. What some swear by others swear at.
I'd strongly recommend the link that you were given on Managing your pain. It's very good and very comprehensive and I speak as someone who has been very familiar with pain for most of my life. I can strongly recommend exwrcises, and distraction. I find they do help a lot.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
